This all new Aquaforte Drum filter XL is a larger version of the popular AquaForte drum filter and a truly affordable drum filter. The Aquaforte Dum Filter is supplied with a professional, software based controller and can be used on both pump and gravity fed systems.

Draco Drum large Bio Unit was designed to co-ordinate with the Draco Drum Solum Range of drum filters, they utilise the same curved base configuration to reduce dirt traps and can be installed either singly or in multiples.

How does the Draco Drum large Bio Unit work?

Operation of the Draco Drum large Bio Unit

Draco Drum large Bio Unit unit is configured as a downward flow, diverted input unit with longitudinal air delivery, to manage water flow around the chamber, maximising the active volume for bio filtration.

Incoming water at the top will have a tendency to “track” diagonally or straight down to the outlet, the path of “least resistance”. By making it interact with the air from the bottom of the tank, this waterflow is disrupted and forced back upwards.

If part of the incoming flow is diverted towards the centre of the tank, the water is forced into the area where the air is rising, enhancing this flow disruption and pushing the water out to the sides.

As the water is pushed sideways at the surface of the unit, it has no choice but to travel downwards when it hits the side. The bottom of the chamber is curved, helping that downward flow turn into a circulatory movement. When reaching the airbar right at the bottom of the unit, the water is forced back up to repeat the circulation until it exists out of the far end. This curved bottom also eliminates any corners where debris may accumulate.

Oase ProfiClear Premium XL Drum Filter – Gravity EGC

Based on the highly successful OASE ProfiClear Premium L Drum Filter technology, the new ProfiClear XL pond filter system can be used to filter ponds up to 530,000 Litres (or 100,000 Litre Koi Ponds). The automated Drum Module has been oversized to remove particles and pollutants even in highly sedimented ponds. The XL Drum module is offered in both pump fed and gravity fed guises.

The Gravity Fed XL Filter Drum features 7 inlets for connection of up to 2 x Bitron Premium UVCs, Wall Skimmers or Bottom Drains. The 2 x 180mm outlets are designed for direct connection to the XL Moving Bed Module and/or Gravity Discharge Module. The Gravity XL Drum Filter Module is supplied with intelligent filter-mounted controller for automatic cleaning of the 16 individual drum filter sieves. The filter sieves will screen out debris down to 60 microns but can be changed to optional 30 micron or 150 micron sieves depending on the level of filtration required.
