Bioflo+ is designed to provide a large protected surface area for the biofilm and optimal conditions for the bacteria culture when the media are suspended in water. A durable, rugged and highly efficient media for moving bed biological Filters.

Its innovative design creates a high percentage of protected surface area for micro-organisms to adhere. In turn, this increases the overall biomass concentration. Large openings allow for the wastewater to freely pass through the media which helps maintain a healthy and thin biofilm.

Zeolite reduces the Ammonia in your pond creating a healthier environment for your Koi. It works by trapping and absorbing Ammonia, extracting it from your ponds water.

Ammonia is the nuber one killer of pond fish, maintaining a health level of ammonia within in your ponds ecosystem is essential, Zeolite can aid in this process.

As Zeolite absorbs the ammonia, soaking in salt overnight will release the entrapped ammonia enabelling the zeolite to be reused. However, should you need to treat your pond with salt or other medications you must remove the Zeolite from your filter system as the entapped ammonia will be release back into your system.

This Japanese Zeolite is supplied in large pieces in 20kg bags

The Alfagrog range of porous ceramic filter media is made under controlled conditions UK.

Selected clays and raw materials are rapidly sintered at high temperature to produce a foamed ceramic porous mass, which is crushed and sieved to a convenient particle size.

The Bacteria House Media is a ceramic that has been heat treated at 1300°c for 60hrs. This tremendous amount of heat causes the ceramic to break its internal bonds thereby creating an extremely porous structure that has a much greater surface to allow very large bacteria populations to colonise within the Media .

Due to the large quantities of tiny holes in the Bacteria House Media, mechanical filtration is also achieved. Large organic solids and decaying matter are degraded at a far greater speed than conventional media.

One of the key elements of the Bacteria House Media is that it reacts in a seemingly ‘electrostatic’ manner with floating organic matter causing an increase in adhesion rate. This produces clear clean water at a rapid rate. Water in its natural state creates multiple bonds with surrounding water molecules creating a cluster. The Bacteria House Media emits FAR infrared rays that break the bonds of the neighbouring water molecules thereby allowing more oxygen to be dissolved in the water.
