Why Are My Koi Behaving Oddly?

Some times your may notice your Koi swimming or darting around faster than they normally do, they may flash off the sides of the pond or the bottom, they can also lay still with there fins clamped in to there body or they may be isolating there selves away from the rest of the fish in your pond, There are several reasons for these things to happen,

Firstly you will need to check your water perimeters and resolve any problems with those that you may find,

Secondly your koi may have a parasite and the only way to find out if they do is by performing a skin scrape and having a look under a microscope again you will need to treat according to your findings and,

Thirdly lack of oxygen make sure you have a constant supply of oxygen to your pond and make sure you have enough oxygen for the size of pond and the weather conditions, its worth remembering the hotter the weather the more oxygen your koi will need.
