How Do I Know If I’m Over Feeding My Koi?

This is likely the more common type of incorrect feeding schedule. Feeding time is usually the most important moment that koi owners share with their fish. Because of this, it is easy to see why they might give too much food. Also, koi often look hungry even when they are not, making it simple to overfeed. Overfeeding can cause many problems, such as more waste in the pond from both the koi and leftover food. Which can lead to water quality issues and can lead to less oxygen in the water. This can damage the kidneys and internal organs. It also raises the risk of disease. Fish can rot or even die from poor water quality caused by over feeding. In the wild, koi don’t eat two big meals daily. Instead, they find food all day long. In a pond, koi need two to three meals daily. Usually, give them enough food to eat in 3-5 minutes.
