How Long Can Koi Go With Out Being Feed?

During the colder months, as temperatures drop and water becomes chilly, fish, including Koi, tend to become less active and often retreat to the bottom of the pond where it’s warmer. This behavioural change means they can go extended periods without eating, relying on the natural food sources available in their environment, such as algae and organic debris. However, if you observe that your Koi remain active and actively seek out food during these colder periods, it’s advisable to provide supplemental feeding. A nutritious choice during this time is wheatgerm, which is easier for them to digest in low temperatures.
