What Is A Kuro Goshiki Koi?

The Goshiki koi is a stunning type of fish created by crossing an Asagi koi with a Kohaku koi. It is famous for being one of the most colourful varieties in koi keeping. The word “Goshiki” means “Five Colours,” which reflects its many hues. The Asagi parent gives its scales a unique reticulated pattern. This network of lines creates a fishnet effect all over its body, making each scale stand out against the white and black background. The ‘dark’ or ‘Kuro’ Goshiki has a deeper look with bolder black (sumi) markings, making it truly special.
