What Should The Nitrate level Be In My Pond?

If the nitrate level in your pond reaches 80 ppm, it is essential that the ideal level of nitrate is between 20 and 60 parts per million (ppm). Start a routine of partial water changes to bring the nitrates down to a safer level. Nitrate levels exceeding 120 ppm can become highly toxic. We would always recommend preforming regular water test using a test kit like the Colombo Pond Test Lab Professional.
