Evolution Aqua have launched the Nexus320+ and Nexus220+ filtration systems. Building on the tried and tested technology that has been ever present in the world renowned Nexus, the team at Evolution Aqua have gone even further to enhance their number one Koi pond filter.
The Nexus320+ and Nexus220+ filters now come with a new filter media called K+ Media in the moving bed outer chamber for vastly improved biological filtration and faster filter maturation. The new Nexus+ filters are also supplied “auto ready”, with factory fitted fixings already in place, making it even easier to upgrade to the Nexus Automatic Cleaning System.

Nexus Automatic System
Continuing our long standing reputation for innovation, the Nexus Automatic System now enables Nexus owners to benefit from a fully automated cleaning cycle on their multi award winning Nexus filtration systems. Physically turning ball valves and manually switching pumps on and off will now be a thing of the past thanks to the Nexus Automatic System. All of the key processes that form the cleaning cycle are now controlled automatically with this easy to install kit.
Overview
The Nexus Automatic System can be installed on Nexus 220 and 320 filters manufactured after 2006, whether on gravity-fed or pump-fed installations. The kit includes a control box which connects up to an automated
waste valve, airpump control box and an automatic inlet slide plate (for gravity fed models only). Once installed and connected to your pond pump and mains power the system will carry out cleaning cycles at timed intervals or when pressing the manual clean button.
Cleaning Cycle
The Nexus Automatic System will control the cleaning cycle fully automatically. Cleaning is done on a timer, which is factory set to clean once every 3 days, however, this is easily adjustable to fit in with your pond requirements. The Nexus Automatic System will run a cleaning cycle which lasts approximately 10 minutes.
Gravity Fed Cleaning Cycle
■ Adjustable timer kicks in to start a cleaning cycle.
■ Control box automatically switches circulating pump off.
■ The water level in the Nexus equalises.
■ Inlet valve closes whilst at the same time air is diverted from the outer bio chamber to the EAZY to clean the media.
■ After the media has been cleaned, the waste valve opens.
■ EAZY is drained to waste and inlet valve opens for a final flush of the EAZY.
■ The waste valve closes.
■ Air is diverted back from the EAZY to the bio chamber.
■ Circulating pump is switched back on.
■ Nexus returns to filtration mode.
Pump Fed Cleaning Cycle
■ Adjustable timer kicks in to start a cleaning cycle.
■ Control box automatically switches circulating pump off.
■ The water level in the Nexus equalises
■ Air is diverted from the outer bio-chamber to the Eazy to clean the media.
■ After the media inside the Eazy has been cleaned, the automated waste valve opens.
■ Eazy is drained to waste.
■ The automated waste valve closes.
■ Air is diverted back from the Eazy to the biochamber.
■ Circulating pump is switched back on.
■ Nexus returns to filtration mode.removed if needed with the K1 Micro in place. This added feature is ideal when undertaking further maintenance.
The generally accepted practice is that when you keep ornamental fish, whether in a pond or in an aquarium, to keep the water fresh, 10% of the volume of the water in the pond/aquarium should be changed on a weekly basis. With this in mind, we recommend that you set your Nexus Automatic system to run a cleaning cycle so as to exchange water in line with this.general parameters of our ponds is turn over rate. This is the time that it takes for the total volume of the pond to pass through the filter system once. We recommend that for ideal performance a turn over rate of every 2 to 3 hours is found to be best.

Through the combination of two filter stages, the compact all-in-one filter unit ensures crystal clear water, even in large ponds. Mechanical separation of particles and suspended matter down to 150 micrometres occurs instage 1 via the proven drum filter technology. In stage 2 the water is biologically cleaned via highly effective filter sponges.
A 4-bar cleaning pump cleans the filter drum automatically as needed; the water temperature can be seen out on the control unit. Moreover, the BioTec Premium can be flexibly extended through additional modules of the ProfiClear Classic series. This large, compact gravity outlet, flow-through filter box features an automated pre-filter conveyor which will screen out larger debris and transport this on a porous conveyor belt to a large collection basket for periodic emptying. The new Screendrive mechanism is now fully automated via a special cleaning sensor which controls the belt functions depending on the dirt level detected on the porous belt. Only small particles pass through the ScreenMatic drive belt where the large surface area biological/mechanical filter foams will trap and break down the organic waste. The OASE BioTec ScreenMatic² 90000 is an innovative auto-cleaning filtration system for both ornamental ponds and fish ponds alike. The filtration system operates using a rotating screen belt which intercepts solid waste upon entry and transfers this to a collection tray when filled. Waste levels are measured by a sensor bar which engages a cleaning cycle when the sieve screen belt is sufficiently filled with waste, the sensor bar position can be adjusted to suit the flow rate from different pumps and regulate the amount of waste intercepted before self-cleaning. Beneath the screen mechanism are a series of 16 filter sponges in 3 different grades of coarseness, these provide excellent biological filtration after the mechanical extraction, removing harmful soluble waste product. Water is also passed through Zeolite media in the front chamber which collects waste and nutrient in solution before water is returned to the pond.
