Burtons Bio Blocks are a new and exciting form of biological media. They comprise of five different blocks with each block having a different role to play within in the ecosystem of the pond.

With the first block containing Silver to kill of bad enzymes and bacteria. The Second which slowly releases trace elements into the water such as Calcium, Magnesium and Zinc. The third which is Far infrared helping to breakdown waste and increasing oxygen levels. The fourth block works purely biological so is highly efficient in allowing nitrifying and denitrifying bacteria to cultivate. Finally, the Fifth block contains negative ions to aid the health and wellbeing of your pond/fish. With these blocks combined and added to your existing filtration it’ll give you the very best water quality.

Pack of 2 specially designed soft green spawning brushes each brush measures 1.5m by 140mm diameter.

Spawning is made easy with the help of these specially designed brushes. The breeding season is normally from April to July depending on the weather.

Place the Spawning Brushes just below water level, one above the other, at the edge of the pond, this will
encourages your fish to spawn, usually in the early hours.

Spawning takes several hours with the eggs sticking to the brushes.
After spawning, separate the brushes from the broodfish to avoid the eggs being eaten.
Place the brushes in filtered water of the same temperature and the fry will hatch in 3-6 days.

Small fish should be kept separate until they are large enough to be introduced to the pond.

NT LABS Zeolite 5kg

Zeolite is commonly used in pond filtration systems to help absorb and remove ammonia and other nitrogenous compounds. Recharging the zeolite helps maintain its effectiveness over time. For best results, use NT Labs Zeolite throughout the year and recharge it regularly. Consider recharging and topping up when water quality begins to decline.

How to use:

  1. Place the zeolite into the filter bag provided and rinse it under the tap.
  2. Position the zeolite in the filter in an area with a strong flow of water.
  3. Test your water quality using NT Labs Test Kits regularly.
  4. Recharge the zeolite in spring and every 6 weeks unless poor water quality is detected. When recharging, replace 50% of the zeolite.
  5. To recharge, prepare a salt solution (4 tablespoons per gallon of water) and soak the zeolite chunks for 24 hours.

The Bacteria House Media is a ceramic that has been heat treated at 1300°c for 60hrs. This tremendous amount of heat causes the ceramic to break its internal bonds thereby creating an extremely porous structure that has a much greater surface to allow very large bacteria populations to colonise within the Media .

Due to the large quantities of tiny holes in the Bacteria House Media, mechanical filtration is also achieved. Large organic solids and decaying matter are degraded at a far greater speed than conventional media.

One of the key elements of the Bacteria House Media is that it reacts in a seemingly ‘electrostatic’ manner with floating organic matter causing an increase in adhesion rate. This produces clear clean water at a rapid rate. Water in its natural state creates multiple bonds with surrounding water molecules creating a cluster. The Bacteria House Media emits FAR infrared rays that break the bonds of the neighbouring water molecules thereby allowing more oxygen to be dissolved in the water.

Zeolite

Zeolite reduces the Ammonia in your pond creating a healthier environment for your Koi. It works by trapping and absorbing Ammonia, extracting it from your ponds water.

Ammonia is the number one killer of pond fish, maintaining a health level of ammonia within in your ponds ecosystem is essential, and this product can aid in this process.

As it absorbs the ammonia, soaking in salt overnight will release the entrapped ammonia enabling it to be reused. However, should you need to treat your pond with salt or other medications you must remove the Zeolite from your filter system as the entrapped ammonia will be released back into your system.
